Been using Logitech G502 Hero and Razer Ornata V3 for a moment now and wanted to do a quick recap of the mouse and the keyboard. Nothing too fancy but staying on budget. Let’s get to it!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logitech G502 Hero \u2013mouse<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Logitech G502 HERO features a HERO 25K sensor with a DPI range of 100 to 25,600. The mouse has 11 programmable buttons, customizable RGB lighting and comes with adjustable weights. It is marketed as high performance mouse and having precision in gaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G502 has precise specs. Still – getting a \u201cgaming\u201d mouse is also a preference matter. Some people that play Counter Strike prefer to play with lower sensitivity when moving their mouse more on the mat. So other things to consider when buying a new mouse are; what games do you actually play and what kind of playstyle do you have? Gaming isn\u2019t one-size-fits-all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It nice that G502 has two different mouse wheel modes \u2013 free scroll and position scroll. I don\u2019t reach another sensitivity button(+) effortlessly on default grip. My hands aren’t that big so I often prefer more rounded mouse designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The amount of buttons on G502 is enough. The mouse also comes with adjustable weights but I don\u2019t feel it\u2019s ever well-balanced. Tried multiple different ways to arrange the weights inside the mouse. G502 feels too light without any weights but it just doesn\u2019t sit right with them either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really loved Logitech G9x. Fixed mouse wheel to extend it’s life span but it was time to get a new one.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n


Personally, I like having high sensitivity most of the time \u2013 only exception was World of Tanks. It felt funny that the cannon turned so much slower than the cursor. So lowering sensitivity kind of made sense in my head. But for most of the games and casual use I like the mouse to be on a bit heavier side, having a high sensitivity and less wrist movement. AND to be designed in a way that I don’t have to change the grip to reach all the buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me G502 was a great disappointment and almost makes me take the old G9x back to the mat. Since I had difficulties to find a new mouse to my liking I previously just changed the mouse wheel to my G9x. After G9x stopped taking right clicks I had no choice but to try something else. G502 Hero was on sale so I wanted to give it a shot. I admit that even though I like low-profile keyboard designs from Razer I\u2019m not a fan of their mouse designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Razer Ornata V3 X<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Razer Ornata V3 features hybrid mecha-membrane switches that combine the tactile feedback of mechanical switches with the cushioned feel of membrane keys. The colors can be changed through Razer Synapse -driver software. The keyboard is marketed as spill-resistant, for casual gaming and having ergonomic approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think the marketing is quite accurate \u2013 the feel is really great! If I would be willing to spend more money on a keyboard I would prefer linear switches and am not a fan of tactiles. Many affordable mechanical keyboards avaible I\u2019ve tested have noisy tactile switches. Ornata delivers in ergonomy and is silent. Lovely low-profile keys that aren’t too separated from each other for me to reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Razer is a great manufacturer regarding keyboards but I’m not vouching for all of their products. We shall not discuss about Razer headset I returned less than a month!<\/em> If I’m not building myself a custom keyboard I’ll propably get myself a Black Widow from the brand eventually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
