It can be a long lasting investment when maintained and many people think the traces of usage are part of the charm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sewing sleeves<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve worn my trusty lamb jacket for over a decade and it\u2019s a wonder it isn\u2019t in a worse shape. The sleeves were worn in the ends pretty bad but I felt like I could live with the elastics around the stomach being left as they are. So I decided to attempt fixing the sleeve ends first before putting too much effort to anything else. Tried it anyways \u2013 and the leather got stiff. I felt unmotivated to do anything about the jacket for a week. But I\u2019m glad I did eventually get the Leather wax from the store. I think it saved the whole project!<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"457\" src=\"https:\/\/jurotar.fi\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/leather_jacket_restoration_beeswax-1024x457.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1722\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jurotar.fi\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/leather_jacket_restoration_beeswax-1024x457.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/jurotar.fi\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/leather_jacket_restoration_beeswax-300x134.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jurotar.fi\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/leather_jacket_restoration_beeswax-768x342.jpg 768w, https:\/\/jurotar.fi\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/leather_jacket_restoration_beeswax.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Waxing the leather<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This beeswax is a finnish product that contains also woolwax from &#8220;Mesimestari&#8221;. It didn\u2019t have a strong fragnance and can be applied on leather with fingers if you haven\u2019t got anything else on hand. Still, it&#8217;s best to rub wax in with a cloth so that there won&#8217;t be too much leftover product on the surface. I have sensitive skin and I worked the wax to the leather without gloves on and it didn\u2019t irritate my skin. I\u2019m really pleased with the product! Will be buying again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The waxing made leather soft again, most of the black color sticked and the shine for the leather is back. The wax didn&#8217;t tilt the color &#8211; just refreshed the existing color. I think the jacket restoration worked well enough that I\u2019ll be wearing it this summer.
