So I’m stuck with a student status instead of unemployed. And I’m pretty much forced to take student loan to survive. I was worried about young adults getting into a debt with no certainty of landing a job after graduating but now the worry hit me directly into my face. Until now I have been working most of the time to cover my expenses while studying.
Now I pretty much have to take the loan. And I’m baffled how quickly it can stack since cost of living has been increasing a lot in recent years. Life is shit. I feel extremely frustrated that I’ve come so far without taking the student loan – I’m 4th year student.
“So close no matter how far…”

Health and studies
Still, my plan at the moment is to stick with studying, trying to rest and to train physically. Even though it would mean taking a student loan for a few months. My plan for recovery and for returning to workforce needs to be realistic and work on longer scope of life. If I take on any job offer possible I’m propably going end up on shitty situation. This time I’m going to be more strategic about what do I sign up for.
Atleast I can benefit from student healthcare. It has relatively low cost for each term and it includes dental care and mental health services. If you are a student and struggling with health remember to check if you have student healthcare possibilities – those can be more affordable than public services. I hope every struggling student gets the support and understanding for their life situation.

Looking for my tribe
I should finally start making more effort on networking. Thinking I need to find “my people”. I want to work in a way that doesn’t make me feel misaligned with my personal values and meet new people with similar interests. A toxic environment can wear people out and make them behave in a way that they wouldn’t in a different setting so I want to get into a better surrounding intentionally.
I’m also interested about looking into different workflows in smaller companies and about new innovative mindsets. I would love to discuss with people that have tried new ways to work and are open for a change in the working culture.
Have you been on uplifting networking events – where?
Or is has your company tried some modern ways of working to improve the work-life balance?
