Lazy fall favourites for styling and intention behind the pieces

Can devil be in the details but in a good way? I love thrifting and accessories! After some weight fluctuation I came up with a budget-friendly strategy to personalise and improve my style without spending aimlessly. Here are my revelations about the styling strategy for weight changes and my fall styling favourites.

Intention and considering your phase

A thing to consider is intentionality about getting new pieces. What do you want your week to look like? What kind of work do you do and are you working on your own clothes? Or do you spend time outdoors? Keeping in mind the activities you’re actually going to perform during the regular week is the starting point.

For example: I’ve started going on walks and training more regularly so I invested on new pair of sneakers. The old ones were painful to walk in since they were so worn out. Also got some basic linen t-shirts and college pants. I’m not waiting “until I’m fit” to buy the new training clothes. I want to train comfortably as I am now. This style refresh is all about feeling better in the current situation and about supporting life changes.

If you’re looking to save some money for selected quality pieces check the thrift market first! It’s not guaranteed you’ll find a certain item from there but if you are looking for multiple fitting clothing pieces you’ll might find some of those pre-used. Just remember to freeze and clean the pieces before use.

Bags & scarfs

Personally, I love bags. Some of my bags are from a thrift store, some are bought from sale and the grey denim one was from Temu. Also love scarfs and how each of those brings a whole new vibe to the styling. Play with the way you place and fold the scarf – it’s not so serious!

Even though I’m emphasizing regular clothing combined with denim and leathery looks I think it’s good to own at least one dress or something else you would like to wear on a party. That you don’t end up with “I’ve got nothing to wear” -situation when it would be the time for a glam up. I’ve been there just recently and I know how much it sucks. I’m currently looking for a simple black dress to style for multiple occasions.

Jewellery

Silver, gold, copper.. Your tone tells what flatters you the best. There are multiple guides how to figure out are you warm, cold or neutral toned. Silver is my go-to as a cold bitch but I sometimes try to make my few selected gold-toned pieces work.

Some of my favourite pieces of jewellery I own

The most basic thing I spam is to use big or dangling earrings when hair is up and smaller ones usually when their down. If I’m not going out much in a few days I’ll just put some small silver earrings so that I can sleep with those and don’t need to make changes. Rings in different sizes are easy to pair with many different outfits. Some people love simple pearl earrings with their hair up – not really my thing but looks good with girlier blouse or a suit jacket.

I don’t use necklaces often but it’s good to have at least one that goes well with some pair of earrings you own. And preferably with the dress that will be used in parties.

Rings feel like a statement pieces. I you come across affordable and pretty rings that really feel like you try them on with different clothing! Multiple rings worn at the same time, one at a time. Sometimes a ring with popping colour brings the whole outfit together!

Heatless hair favourites

Heatless curling rod is one of my new favourites by far. It’s used on rolling wet hair up. Those are fun to conceal with a bandana when going out before hair is completely dry. Slap a red lipstick on it and create the oldies look. Take the bandana and rods off, use some hairspray and you’ve got curls for the evening.

Scrunchies and using a single big have been my go-to since summer. Less stressing for the scalp. If you want to slip back a fringe when it’s having a mind of it’s own a comb headband is a choice. I often do both; hair back with the huge-ass clip and a comb headband to hide the bad-fringe-day.
